José, also known as Zé, is filming "Cacau" for TVI and is taking the stage as the co-protagonist in the play "A Andorinha / La Golondrina". Under the direction of Pedro Almodovar, he starred in the film "Strange Way of Life / Estraña Forma de Vida", which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023. On Netflix, he assumed the character Eduardo, the protagonist of the globally successful "Turn of the Tide / Rabo de Peixe", with the next season set to arrive soon. On the television front, José portrayed the protagonists Amaro in the series "O Crime do Padre Amaro" (RTP) and David in "Bem Me Quer". Additionally, he joined the casts of the series "A Filha", "Pôr do Sol", and "Até Que a Vida nos Separe". In 2021, his portrayal of Hamlet, directed by Carlos Avilez, earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Theater Actor. In 2023, his performance as Padre Amaro, the protagonist of the series "O Crime do Padre Amaro", secured him the Golden Globe for Best Fiction Actor. Recognized for his contribution to "O Som Que Desce da Terra", he received the DGArtes Award for Best Supporting Actor. His film credits include "Salgueiro Maia - The Implicated: The Series" and "Gabriel", where he played the antagonist. José completed his Acting Course at the Escola Profissional de Teatro de Cascais (2012-2015).
