Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in the early 1980s, Gato Da Bato (which means "sweet as a cake"), like many locals, fled the authoritarian regime to settle in Miami, Florida, and give substance to the " American dream ". From his real name Daniel Toussaint, he begins to make people talk about him through various musical projects and overcomes his stuttering in an incisive flow which is expressed on his first mixtapes, mixing lyrics in French, English and Creole. He is one of the members of Booba's 92i collective. It was revealed to the general public in 2010 thanks to the single "Nu Lajan" featuring the French rapper Booba. The latter invites him several times on his tours and allows him to increase his notoriety. In 2011, he was entitled to a solo track on an album by his mentor Booba, who continued to support him and notably allowed him to connect artists such as Rick Ross or 2 Chainz. In 2013, Gato Da Bato published an 11-track mixtape entitled Zoé land - Tout est noir, then strengthened his French notoriety in 2014 with the single "H*M*K" and in 2015 with "Roulé Fort" with Booba. He then collaborated again with the "Duke" but also Damso or Kalash. In 2019, it is with the title "Haï" that Gato Da Bato shines again in the charts, and reinforces his status as an ambassador of Haiti. On November 3, 2022, he released the mixtape Diego Soda composed of 4 tracks, including the track "Morocco" featuring Booba.
