Antonio C. “Tony” Garcia
Antonio C. “Tony” Garcia (1925 – August 18, 2005) was an American Army soldier and World War II veteran who served with Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. A Technician Fifth Grade, he joined Easy Company as a replacement and served in the European Theater during the later stages of the war. Garcia was among the replacement soldiers who joined Easy Company after the Normandy campaign. He served with the company during Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge, and remained with the unit through its advance into Germany and the end of the war. Following his military service, Garcia returned to civilian life and remained closely associated with the veterans of Easy Company. His experiences were included in accounts of the unit, including Marcus Brotherton’s 2010 book A Company of Heroes: Personal Memories About the Real Band of Brothers and the Legacy They Left Us. Garcia was also interviewed for the HBO documentary We Stand Alone Together: The Men of Easy Company, which aired in 2001. Garcia died on August 18, 2005, at the age of 80.
