Meat the Future

Tommy Watanabe, a kind-hearted but naïve Japanese yakiniku chef in Taiwan, believes that good food can make the world better. When a cynical teenager tells him to “become president and fix society,” Tommy takes it literally and launches an unlikely grassroots campaign. As his sincerity attracts public attention, a conman exploits Tommy’s trust and steals campaign donations, forcing him to confront the harsh realities behind idealism and politics.
