CEO Ramsey Jr. ruthlessly dismisses the deserving vice president of his company, Ramsey & Co. Andrew Sloane, who has sacrificed himself for the company for decades, no longer fits his image of a determined, success-oriented manager. Sloane is to be replaced by the young Fred Staples, whom Ramsey ruthlessly promotes as the "new man." But the newcomer will inevitably follow in Sloane's footsteps and have to sacrifice his own values and morals for the job.
